Personal Journey

Daily Devotional with Mr. Jeff Hale ♥

🎶Sitting by a foggy window
Staring at the pouring rain
Falling down like lonely teardrops
Memories of love in vain
These cloudy days, make you wanna cry
It breaks your heart when someone leaves and you don’t know why🎶

“No More Cloudy Days” isn’t a very popular Eagles song, but it has always touched my heart. I pray for all my Facebook friends, who are hurting, lonely, depressed or in “Unequally Yoked Marriages. When things appear the darkest remember that YeHoVaH/God is still in control and hasn’t forgotten us. Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. It is never to our disadvantage or harm.”
I am always amazed at how YeHoVaH/God takes our lives and makes out of them something that will bring glory to his name. We are far from perfect, far from the godly people we ought to be and yet somehow Our Father always overrules. When things appear the darkest remember that YeHoVaH/God is still in control and hasn’t forgotten us. (Romans 8:28) “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. It is never to our disadvantage or harm.” I am always amazed at how He takes our lives and makes out of them something that will bring glory to his name. We are far from perfect, far from the godly people we ought to be and yet somehow YeHoVaH/God overrules. If you have trusted your soul with Yeshua/Jesus, can you not trust Him with everything else? Can you not trust Him with your sick child, sick relatives or your sick husband, with your wealth, with your business, with your life? “Oh,” says one, “I hardly like to do that! It is almost presumption to take our minor cares to Him. But in so doing you will prove the truthfulness of your faith! My Grandpa told of a man who was walking along the high road with a pack on his back. He was growing weary and was, therefore, glad when a gentleman came along in a car and asked him to take a seat with him. The gentleman noticed that he kept his pack strapped to his shoulders, and so he said, “Why do you not put your pack down?” “Why, sir,” said the traveler, “I did not venture to impose. It was very kind of you to take me up, and I could not expect you to carry my pack as well.” “Why,” said his friend, “do you not see that whether your pack is on your back, or off your back, I have to carry it?”
Facebook friends, there will be “No More Cloudy Days” and it is so with your troubles. Whether you care, or do not care, it is the Yeshua/Jesus who must care for you! “I challenge you over the next few days, to rest in Yeshua/Jesus and fret no longer. Amen? https://youtu.be/baAQj0E4sdE

A Stirring In My Soul.

dad3

The last thing my daddy said to me before he went into a state of confusion a month later, was “You don’t have to tell me you love me, I already know.” I was crying, falling apart before him, clinging to his frail, cancer covered wrist. I didn’t understand the lessons I was learning, the peace he would have in freedom with Jesus in Heaven. He suffered long in bed without watching the tiny T.V. and bed-fast without legs. He always told me I could be anything I wanted to be. That has changed over time. God wooed me back into the Fold. I want to shine and bright as I can for my Heavenly Father, and I want to see my Daddy with Jesus at the Rapture which is about to happen any moment now! This video really stirred me up inside and I felt the Holy Spirit so strong! I pray it will bless you as well. Amen.

When I Don’t Get What I Want

Lysa TerKeurst By LYSA TERKEURST

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)

Lysa TerKeurstHave you ever wanted something so badly your heart ached with each thought of it? It seems life would be so much better if you had that.

There would be more happiness.

More contentment.

More fulfillment.

More satisfaction.

More peace.

We can envision ourselves with this thing, this person, this opportunity. And all things are better. So, why doesn’t God give us this longing of our heart?

Because He wants us to willingly release it to Him.

Ouch.

Not the answer we want. Why would God let the aching desire linger and not make things happen? He could. He’s certainly able. But when He doesn’t, it seems unfair. Not good. Confusing.

It’s easy to get down when we’re constantly let down.

We hope this thing will happen … we’ll meet this right person … we’ll get this job … we’ll finally be healed … we’ll get that chance … we’ll see that family member turn their life around. Time and again it doesn’t happen. That’s when it’s easy to slip.

We can so easily slip into feeling a little distant from God because we feel hurt by God.

That’s what happened when the man I thought I was going to marry told me he met someone else. That’s what happened when I didn’t get the job I was so certain was going to be the answer to all my financial problems. That’s what happened when my son didn’t get into the charter school we were so certain would have been perfect for him.

But, in each of these things, I eventually had to make a choice. I could either be consumed with my unmet longing or trust the plans of our loving God.

As an offering of trust, we must give up that which could so easily bring us down.

Not give up as in a discouraged surrender. But giving up as in placing this desire in the hand of God and saying, “Either way, I will see Your answer as the good answer and walk in trust.”

The Scriptures and today’s key verse promise He rewards those who honestly seek Him: “And without faith is it impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

Sometimes I get so consumed with seeking my unmet longings, I don’t earnestly seek Him. But then I miss out on His reward. And His reward is the only thing that will fill the void in my heart.

Yes, I still struggle with unmet desires.

But not as much today as I did yesterday.

And that is good. Not easy. But good.

Dear Lord, I sacrifice chasing what I want so I might more fully, and with more focus, chase You. I release this grip of desire. I praise You for who You are, what only You can bring, and how You will fill whatever gap this release might leave. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

TRUTH FOR TODAY:
1 Timothy 6:12, “Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” (NIV)

Hebrews 12:1, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” (NLT)
