🎶Leaves are falling all around

It’s time I was on my way

Thanks to you I’m much obliged

For such a pleasant stay

But now it’s time for me to go

The autumn moon lights my way

For now I smell the rain

And with it pain

And it’s headed my way

Ah, sometimes I grow so tired

But I know I’ve got one thing I got to do

Ramble on🎶

This week I have been listening to Robert Plant’s Band of Joy. The golden rock god burrows deeper into gothic American roots music. Trading in T-Bone Burnett and Alison Krauss for Buddy Miller and Patty Griffin, thereby finding the only sound that matters. My favorite track is Angel Dance and a new rendition of Ramble On. This album has brought me much Joy this week. Who doesn’t want Joy in their life? Isaiah 55:12 says, “You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace.” The word “led forth” in Hebrew, is “yabal.” Yabal also means to “flow”, like a river flows. YeHoVaH/God’s Spirit is likened to water that flows. So, when you’re living in His Spirit and being led by Him, you’re going to flow. Is your life characterized by flowing or is it being driven, pressed, and compelled by all the things that are happening around you? Are you rushing and running but not being led? If you’re not being led, then you’re not going to flow. Anger, jealousy, fear, and depression have no flow. A life that’s driven, forced, and pushed has no flow because it’s not led. But if you’re led by YeHoVaH/God, you have the quality of flowing. Love, faith, mercy, kindness, Joy, and peace flow. That’s how you are to go through life, flowing in His Spirit. Don’t be driven, but instead be led and be Joyful. For when you are led by His Spirit, your life will flow like a river. Then you shall go out with Joy and be led forth with peace. Amen?

Boston sang “Don’t look back” on WLS in Chicago late in the summer of 1978. (I was glued to my AM radio back then) WLS was about all I listened too. How can you beat Larry Lujack? Long before Boston sang “Don’t look back” there was the Apostle Paul was telling Believers, in so many words, ”Don’t look back!” Paul writes in his letter to the Philippians, ”Brethren, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the upward call of YeHoVaH/God in Yeshua/Jesus.” His word to us is, ”Don’t look back!” Like the Apostle Paul we must forget ”what lies behind and strain forward to what lies ahead.” There is a natural, human tendency for us to look back. And there can be great value in looking back. We look back to learn. We look back to affirm the places and faces and circumstances from whence we have come. Facebook friends, ”It’s mainly for some clue to where I am going that I search through where I’ve been, for some hint as to whom I am becoming or failing to become that I delve into what used to be.” So there is, indeed, a time for us to look back, if that looking back carries with it a positive purpose. At the same time Paul tells us to ”forget what lies behind.” But Paul is saying don’t look back in a way that will keep us from going forward. Don’t look back in a way that makes us prisoners of our past, because looking back in the wrong way enslaves us or enslaves others to past mistakes and sins. Looking back in the wrong way does not allow the healing of old hurts and painful memories. Even looking back at past accomplishments and successes can keep us from discovering what lies ahead. So the advice that’s given to us is, ”Don’t look back!” Imagine how miserable the Apostle Paul would have been if he had not put behind the sins and mistakes of his past. Think back on Paul’s earlier years.

Before his conversion Paul was named Saul, and he was the number one enemy of the church. He was responsible for the gruesome persecution and even the murder of people who professed faith in Yeshua/Jesus. When Stephen, the great witness for Yeshua/Jesus, was stoned to death, Luke tells us that ”Saul was consenting to his death.” In Acts, Luke goes on to say ”that a great persecution arose against the church” and ”Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, he dragged off men and women and committed them to prison.” Paul’s past was cluttered with atrocious acts of evil. And he wasn’t perfect after he became a Believer. He, like us, continually struggled with his sinfulness. Yet he was forgiven. Through the grace of YeHoVaH/God Paul was forgiven. He affirmed in his letter to the Colossians, ”He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Paul was able to forget the awfulness of his past because YeHoVaH/God had forgotten and forgiven Paul’s past. In Hebrews Yeshua/Jesus tells us that He will ”remember our sins and misdeeds no more.” There’s no reason for us to remain enslaved to the mistakes and sins and shortcomings of our past. We don’t have to continually feel guilty and ”second rate” because of something we did years ago or even yesterday. YeHoVaH/God in Yeshua/Jesus has forgiven us, and all we do is accept His forgiveness and say ”thank you.” It’s as simple as that. Don’t look back at past mistakes! Amen?

FOLLOWING GOD AND HIS CALL ON YOUR LIFE!

FOLLOWING GOD AND HIS CALL ON YOUR LIFE!

Separation will oftentimes be part of your development as a Christian. Before you can take on something new, the Lord may ask you to let go of something you already have. Obedience is meant by saying goodbye to relationships and things dear to your heart. A life you’ve known… left behind. Strong faith will enable you to say yes to what the Lord commands.

Moving ahead in the mist of uncertainty can be another aspect of following the Lord. Unwavering trust in your heavenly Father will enable you to answer the Divine call wholeheartedly – even though specific details aren’t given.
Following God requires living by obedient faith. That means: trusting the Holy Spirit to be your guide; when you don’t see how all the pieces fit together (John 16:13-15); believing that God always works for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28); and having a desire to please your Father.

Question: Will you be ready when He calls?

The Blind Man

This poem was written by a dear Brother in Christ concerning his awakening in God.

THE BLIND MAN, by Joseph Arthurs

My eyes have been shielded
Too many years by now
My heart of rock not yielded
Remaining made of stone.
Why have I ignored this
Letting life pass wearily along
Did I not see the answer
Shining clearly all day long
My arrogance and pride misled me
Telling me I was doing fine
I just decided to let things be
Submitting my heart each time
Til the day He nudged me
Riding on my high horse
My eyes blinked open slowly
As I saw I was at a loss
Now let me say to you clearly
I hope those days are past
It was His grace shocked me
To learn,to pray..but fast
May God now maintain me
Keeping me on His path
With Jesus’ love redeeming
The Spirit too has my back.

A Prayer Stop Poem: “Are You Ready?”

Are You Ready?

A Prayer Stop poem, author unknown.

https://anointednurse.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/purple-cemetary.jpg

Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house,

Not a creature was praying, not one in the house.
Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care,
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.
The children were dressing to crawl into bed,
Not one ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap,
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.
When out of the East there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray,
I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!
The light of His face made me cover my head,
It was Jesus returning just like He had said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.
In the Book of Life which He held in His hand,
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said “It’s not here” my head hung in shame.
The people whose names had been written with love,
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound,
While all the rest were left standing around.
I fell to my knees, but it was too late,
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.
In the words of this poem the meaning is clear,
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
There’s only one life and when comes the last call,
We’ll find that the Bible was true after all!

Please share this poem and may it spread all over the globe!

I’ve heard it’s been removed in a few places, but that’s not going to stop the Truth. God loves you, Jesus loves you, and if you do not know Him, now is the time to make that decision.
God bless everyone

The Door of Fulfillment

A great read to start the day, my friends!

Direct Article via

Thoughts About God
devotionals daily

“I am the door, if anyone enters through me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” John 10:9

Many Christians I know are frazzled. They work hard to serve God in tangible ways, and yet time for prayer and rest is brushed aside for modern day guarantees of fulfillment. Idle time is wasted on empty entertainment or scanning phones, having jostled and interrupted conversations with others doing the same.

Jesus invited us to set that all aside for true fulfillment when He said, “I am the door.” Only in Him do we, as weary travelers, finally arrive at a secure destination where we can be nourished.

In today’s passage, God is calling us to the rest that becomes ours by crossing through Christ, the door. We are like sheep that wander. When we ignore God’s door, we come back starved, misled, dirty, or at the very least worn out.

However, when we pay close attention to today’s verse, we see that only back-and-forth, day-to-day fellowship with God will provide us with pasture or food, not only for our bodies, but also for our souls.

No matter how many wonderful things you accomplish each day, no matter how many people you influence, don’t forget to get your nourishment from God so you can continue to please Him as well as to stay balanced. The Door is open and those who enter will indeed reap a healthy reward.

Dear Lord, I pray that You would help me to set aside every encumbrance so I can focus on having time with You. I pray that You would hear the cries of my heart, would recognize my passions, and would turn me in the right direction so I can find true fulfillment for the journey. Thank You for the sweet pasture I find in Your presence. The gifts in my life are plentiful, and I attribute them all to You; they are all for Your glory. Amen.

Thought: We can be at home with Jesus every single day. All we have to do is knock on the door—Him. Don’t’ just knock once today. Knock throughout your day. Draw strength and nourishment from your Savior.

Try spiritual breathing. It’s a great way to keep you knocking.
