Beautiful

Post by Lynn Cowell

The gate called Beautiful might be the scale we hope will tell us the right number, the gym we join to become the right size or the mall we cruise through looking for the right outfit.

We go to the gate Beautiful and there we beg for what we need for that day: acceptance, approval and affirmation. It’s not enough to sustain us, though. Tomorrow, searching again, we’ll return.

With the power of the Holy Spirit we can say: “No more!” No more will we beg when Christ died to give us the acceptance we need. Let’s take His hand and look to Him each day for strength and approval.

You are perfect just the way God made you. That’s enough. You’re enough, precious one.

Satisfying Your Deepest Desire With God, Not Food…

“Sweet friend, I know how it feels to want to completely shut down when life gets challenging and things happen that we don’t understand. But if we pull away from praying, reading our Bible and going to church in hard times – we just suffer. If we stay committed to doing those things that keep us connected with God, we will experience an intimacy and power in the midst of our suffering we can’t get any other way.”

Lysa TerKeurst

I love this woman! I feel like somebody I’ve never met, completely gets me!

I found Recovery from Bulimia at 22, I’m almost 30. I purchased the book below in an attempt to find some extra Divine Inspiration in the struggling going on in my life…and boy, was this book from God!!!

Here’s the book & description from the website Proverbs31.org

Made To Crave (Book)

$16.99 USD

Craving isn’t a bad thing.
Has food become more about frustration than fulfillment? Made To Crave is the missing link between a woman’s desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen. Author, Lysa TerKeurst, personally understands the battle that women face. In Made To Crave, she will help you:
  • Break the cycle of “I’ll start again on Monday,” and feel good about yourself today.
  • Stop agonizing over numbers on the scale and make peace with your body.
  • Replace rationalization that lead to diet failure with wisdom that leads to victory.
  • Reach your healthy goals and grow closer to God through the process.

This book is not a how-to manual or the latest, greatest dieting plan, Made To Crave is a helpful companion to use alongside whatever healthy eating approach you choose-a book and Bible study to help you find the “want to” in how to make healthy lifestyle changes.

Join Lysa and experience all that you were made to crave!

Yes! Why didn’t I think of that? haha

I CAN satisfy my deepest desire with God and not food!

The world may tell us we don’t measure up, but God says we are fearfully and wonderfully made. It’s taken me from adolescence up until now to realize that the people who we idolize and set the bar for beauty in women, the standard and sex appeal…are NOT the kind of people we should really be taking advice from. Some of them don’t seem to be the kind of friend I would even want to have. Ever think of that?

You are priceless, dear one.

A New Heart

The Power of God is beyond our understanding. The things He has in store for those that love Him and obey is mind-blowing. It’s out of this world. Literally…

No matter how much pain you are in, no matter how broken your life seems to be…God can restore you. He will.

Praise His Holy name…

I will never, ever be the same.

You Can Come Home

Some turn to a bottle
Some turn to a drug
Some turn to another’s arms
But it seems like it’s never enough…

Lyrics via Turn Around by Matt Maher

God is ever waiting with open arms, my friends. Call out, let your worries be made known. Give yourself to Him and He will give you Living Water…so that you never, ever thirst again…

Inside of a world at war with itself, amongst people at war with themselves, we can still yet have inner peace. Peace that surpasses understanding. A Part of The True Living God inside of us. That is beyond exciting! And motivating, and so encouraging… 🙂

2015.

After years of limbo, a few months ago I found my peace. The peace I searched far and wide for,  just trying to fit in among today’s society. It turns out that my idea of success like what God’s plan for my life is.  I resisted this for years, but awhile back I accepted it. I praise Him for the assignments He has given me, and I continue to ask Him to use me up, and let me work for Him while I am here. There is no one else I would rather work for! 🙂

Whatever your Calling, give it your all. IT is yours. You have a job to do here on earth. So let us carry out the good things that we as individuals can do, making up God’s Grand Plan-all in our unique ways. Do not be deceived as I was for the longest time. Satan has a plan too. As follows: To distract you, deceive you, discourage you, and ultimately destroy you. But we can overcome the world. Jesus left us with so much encouragement and hope, and Truth in our Bible. If He believes in us, it must be so.

Seeking God and completely surrendering to Him changes everything.

We are going to fall down this year. Many of us will make resolutions, make attempts to reach goals. If and when you falter, do not give up. It’s part of our humanness. We can achieve our goals. So make 2015 the year of Confidence. Confidence in Christ because He is the only One that will never let us down. Amen.

Happy New Year ❤

You Are Someone’s Miracle

We begin as blank slates, fresh from the womb, knowing nothing, spotless. Wherever we wind up after that and a bunch of psychology to boot determines how our personality, and the very perception of ourselves develop. There is so much information, theory etc… with that sort of thing. That’s not my point tonight, though. Even on my best day, at this point in my life I would be unable to really deliver a textbook explanation.

But you know, no matter what, we are absolutely 100% able to rise above and beyond our childhoods, troubling life lessons learned the hard way throughout the years like bullying or abuse. I’m not saying it will be just wiped away from our hurting minds and hearts. What I am saying is that though you may still carry the dark or troubling events & people that have hurt you, and the fact that even now, after all these years it still stings…You can rise above it all. The lingering pain can be healed. You can come to a true place of peace in your heart, despite all the memories. The thing is, we have to do some work to find that peace and carry on that work to maintain it.

Reaching out to others, trusted loved ones, friends, family, a significant other…and professional help. I am a living testimony that therapy does work. It will work for you-but you will only reap as much as effort you put in with your counselor. Developing insight is just huge. Sometimes meds can make a dramatic impact. It may take time with trial and error as we are all made differently, but if it works for you, it is worth it. *All credit goes to Jesus Christ, The Son of God. He is the Great Physician, and the one I choose to serve. The things He has done for me I could never count on this earth.* The healing of my weary soul has everything to do with this.

No statistics, no linking of articles or anything tonight. I just want to offer hope. That is the blessing that I have as an overcomer. If you are struggling with anything that haunts you, interfering with your daily life, and leads you to believe a lie, do not give up. Miracles happen every day. There is light within you, whether you see it or not.

You have it in you, precious soul, to be someone else’s miracle.

God bless

Ready for Bed?

Lay down not only your body tonight, but all of your worries, doubts, & fears of anxiety as well. Spread out comfortably in bed and take a moment to ponder this night. All of today is now a memory and part of the past. If you see the dawn, you’ve received the gift of another day, another chance to do what it is you need to do, to make a difference in the lives of others, to share your story and inspire others. Tomorrow could be the best day of your life. That miracle you’ve been praying for could unravel this day.

Either way, my friend, remember that the absence of anxieties and fear is called faith. Where there is actual and 100% faith there is no doubt, fear, or worry. Faith is a growing thing. Over time and with practice and input it becomes greater, packing such a powerful punch. You know you’re gonna get knocked down from time to time. That’s life. But with faith…there is no doubt in all the fibers of your being on earth. You stand fearless, knowing there will be pain, which is unpleasant and uncomfortable…but you know in your heart…your SOUL. You know you can. You know who you are.

You know this because you know Him.

You know God.

He’s listening as you get into bed, and the rest of the time 24/7. Talking to Him can be as short and easy as “Help!” He knows what you need before you even ask.

The Creator of the Universe flung the shimmery stars into His velvety night sky, twinkling as diamonds. Like the moon, and the sun they testify to His great Power & Glory every moment in every day.

Close your eyes. No matter where you are. The eastern or western world. Persecuted, or tormented inside of yourself. God’s got this.

My Priorities Have Changed.

The things ‘I want for Christmas’ or in this life, have changed over the years. The new & shiny, black Cadillac, the fancy home in an untouchable neighborhood by the ocean side, that private practice I’m not opening, trips to Europe or exotic islands…that’s not me anymore. I want to ride home on the wings of Angels someday..to my mansion on streets of gold, by the River of Life, flowing from the Throne of God-that is incomparable to any body of water on this earth. I don’t have to have a PhD to get in.

Amen.
