Daily Devotional with Mr. Jeffrey A. Hale 7.27.18 ♥

🎶 I’ve been around this world, yet I see no end.
All shall fade to black again and again.
This storm that’s broken me, my only friend🎶

With the recent loss of Vinnie Paul, I have been listening to Pantera and a great song by Zakk Wylde called “In This River”. Zakk Wylde wrote this song a few months before his good friend and Vinnie’s brother Darrell “Dimebag” Abbott, was shot and killed by a deranged fan named Nathan Gale when Abbott was performing with his band Damage Plan. Wylde subsequently dedicated the song to Abbott, a fitting tribute as the song deals with death. In a recent interview with Australian news website the AU Review, Ozzy Osbourne and current Black Label Society guitarist / vocalist Zakk Wylde gave readers a rare look at his spiritual side. It turns out that the intimidating, viking like guitarist is a dedicated Christian and he isn’t afraid to show it. It seems that Wylde attends church regularly, even when on tour. Once, a journalist caught him on some random day and asked him about his religious views. Wylde responded, “I’m a soldier of Christ, man. Without a doubt. The bottom line is that He’s with me all the time”. This morning while listening to “In This River” I realized that rivers are important to YeHoVaH/God. In the days of the Kingdom, rivers of living water will flow from the House of the Lord in Jerusalem. Rivers represent God’s Spirit, always giving and flowing. One of the first signs of the faith was that of the fish. But for many believers today, a more accurate sign would be the beaver. Many believers act more like beavers than fish. We dam up the flowing of YeHoVaH/God’s Spirit in our hearts and lives with unforgiveness, bitterness, compromise, fear, and doubt. We dam up our lives with walls against others. When you build them, you dam up your life to missing the blessings Our Father would have you know. As long as you live with dams, your life can’t flow in the blessings of His Spirit. So if you want to live with the blessing of His Spirit flowing freely in your life, break open that dam. Break open that dam of unforgiveness, bitterness, compromise, gloom, fear, and that wall against that person. Then let the river of YeHoVaH/God’s blessing flow into your life because you’re a child of blessing and not a beaver. Amen?
